Wellamo

A home should feel like something.

Wellamo was born from the sea.

The name comes from Wellamo, the mistress of the waters in Finnish mythology — a figure deeply connected to the sea, lakes and the living world beneath the surface.

I grew up in Hanko, a small coastal town in Finland, where the sea has always been part of my life. Some of my happiest childhood memories are from a small wooden boat, heading out to an island with my family. We would camp, swim, fish, grill food over an open fire and simply spend time together.

Those memories have stayed with me.

They are also part of the reason why I believe a home should be more than a beautiful space.

It should make you feel something.
